August has, as was anticipated, not been a month with a lot of books. The 22 that I managed to read were however still more than I expected since I was on holiday twice. The fact that I travelled by train twice might have helped to get at least some reading done on holiday, because as usual I'm a terrible reader when I'm on holiday, barely able to read a few pages a day.
I passed the 200 book mark yesterday, which was obviously great though secretly I'd hoped I would have made my goal of 207 books by now. However, I'm still perfectly on scheme with my (not so) secret goal of 300 books. Another third of the year to come for the last 99 books. That should be possible, not? (Although I'm starting my master thesis today, I still hope to have some time to read books).
Overall, I'm looking back at some (greatly anticipated) and very good books. Peter Grant was awesome in Foxglove Summer but I had expected nothing less. Vivian Apple Needs a Miracle was a very nice conclusion to the duology. Coming soon are The Scorpion Rules and Illuminae that both in their own way really kept me entertained. In Non-fiction I'd recommend (my only non-fiction of the month) Rain. My favorite short story was Lights Out featuring the 12th Doctor (which I still tend to call the new Doctor). Favorite graphic novel/manga: Great Expectations.
