The Kite Runner - Khaled Hosseini

Back in 2008, when I read this book, I wrote: (please forgive me my bad English from when I was fourteen)

I liked reading The Kite Runner. It's about a world I didn't know much about earlier. When I read this, I found out all kinds of new things, which made me understand some things I heard better. I liked the plot. First it's all peaceful but in the end you are reading a thriller. Definitely! I would recommend this book to anyone. It's one of those books you should have read!

Now, I'm not so sure any more I really liked it. I've of course read a lot books since 2008 and I believe my judgement has become harder than it was, probably because I've got more other books to compare with, I remember that I didn't really like the American part of the story. I should probably do a pre-read, when I find the time...

Note: I read a Dutch translation of this book
