Midnight Blue-Light Special - Seanan McGuire

After the first book, and all the short stories after that one, it was time to move on to Midnight Blue-Light Special and Verity. She's still in New York, but something is rotten as Dominic's superiors are making their way to America to see how the preparations for the large scale purge are going.

I like the supporting cast best. I think I might have mentioned once or twice that I like the Aeslin mice, who have a light and funny way about them which really drives the story. It would seem that they can also be incredibly useful. Another aspect that I liked is that Sarah, Verity's cousin, who's another one of the side characters, is incredibly more powerful than Verity, though she is not the main character of the series. This is the case with more of the Cryptids, and I liked it.

The story was rather focused on one event rather than a series of events in the first book. It was a fast and enjoyable read. I'm looking forward to the rest of the series.
