Time Salvager - Wesley Chu

In a time where resources are scarce, what better way to generate new ones by plundering the past. I mean, it is not as if anyone is still alive to complain about it, right?

Meet the Chronmen, they travel back in time to 'salvage' these valuable resources, accompanied by armor that almost super-human, it is hard to remain with both feet on the ground. However, there are some rules. One rule is the most important of them all: at the end of the day everyone should be in his/her own time.

I like time travel stories, in general, but this was also a nice take on it. The characters are not very likeable, being arrogant and all, but it sort of makes sense in the light of the work they are doing. Time travel is dangerous. There are not many people who make it to their retirement.

The story was a fast one, and my biggest problem was that it felt like a set-up for the series. The real story only seems to start at the end of the book, almost forcing you to continue the series (which I planned to do anyway, but still). Either way, I'm curious to see where this is going.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for providing me with a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!
