Brandon Sanderson's White Sand Volume 1 - Brandon Sanderson, Rik Hoskin

For the last few years people have been telling me to read Brandon Sanderson. And I've been planning to do so, I've bought Mistborn and everything, but it never happened. So, when I came across the graphic novel White Sand which is also set in the Cosmere Universe, I thought, why not try this one?

The story, however, is a rather generic fantasy, where the young hero needs to fight multiple enemies and finds himself in a rather powerful position against all odds.

I have to say I was rather disappointed with the story. I really thought it would be something new and different, but is was actually rather generic and never once did it surprise me. I hope that the rest of the Cosmere universe is different, otherwise I'm afraid I won't like it as much as I thought I would.

One thing about the particular eARC I was reading, the quality was really bad. While I'm sure it will be a lot better in the final product, the galley was very pixelated which at times made it difficult to follow what was going on.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for providing me with a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!
