Don't You Cry - Mary Kubica

Some time ago, I read Mary Kubica's first novel, The Good Girl and while I didn't seem as charmed as many other readers I enjoyed it well enough and wanted to give her third book, Don't You Cry a chance.

In line with many other books in the genre, the story features two story lines, one about Quinn, who's flatmate and best friend goes missing, and slowly Quinn learns some shocking things about her. The other one features Alex, who's been forced to grow up too fast due to his alcoholic father. As always, you know the two stories are connected and it's your job to find out how everything fits together.

I enjoyed Quinn's story best, but even her story had some aspects that were either very convenient (if you get my saying) or very implausible. Do not expect an edge of your seat reading experience, this is not that kind of book. However, it was never dull and it was a fast read.

I know it's been awhile since I read The Good Girl, but still I think I enjoyed this book better, which would be good news as it means she's getting better (possibly with every book!).

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for providing me with a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!
