Broken Homes is the fourth PC Grant (though I keep calling this series Rivers of London) novel, the next book Foxglove Summer is due sometime soon! Hooray! You can also read my reviews for the first books: Rivers of London/Midnight Riot, Moon over Soho and Whispers Under Ground.
I wanted to read this book for a long time (before it was even published) but unfortunately I had to wait really long before the right edition was published. Right being 19,7 cm tall, so it will fit in nicely with the rest of the series. That looks a lot better on my shelf and seriously, it wasn't like I didn't have anything else to read in the mean time and try to easy the pain of waiting...
But I was really glad when at last I could buy my copy of Broken Homes. I really enjoyed the previous books and after visiting London last year, I could only imagine it would be even more fun to read about it now. I was not wrong. It was very nice to be re-united with Peter, Lesley, Dr. Walid, Nightingale and of course Molly (especially liked her Jamie Oliver cooking experiments).
The story itself started a bit slow, I found myself wondering when the main story line would actually start, as it takes some time for things to become clear. In hindsight, this isn't really a problem, also because the book is filled with British humour and sarcasm (which I also speak fluently of course). Like the other books it never failed to entertain me. The war/investigation against the Faceless Man and his cronies continues...
