This first episode is only about 60 pages long, and as it is my first serial to read, I have to get used to the fact that the story isn't over yet. And although it isn't, the set up from this first episode is not looking bad. A lot of characters are introduced and you're not yet able to decide which side they are all on. Action kicks in right from the start.
For some reason it reminded me of BZRK (by Michael Grant), and I know that that's about nanotechnology and not cybercrime, I couldn't help but be reminded. I think this was a good start to the novel, and when I find some time eventually I'll probably continue with the second instalment as well.
