City of Ashes - Cassandra Clare

For some reason, I'd completely forgotten that I was reading this book. Out of guilt, I then decided to give it priority and finish it immediately. It was a quick read and the number of obligatory eye rolls was not as high as I initially assumed.

I'm not completely sold on this series yet though. The characters are just so, I don't know how to explain, but I can't say I like them. Even when in they are in trouble, I can't say I feel for them. They are all so 'special', and even the only one of the main characters who is mundane doesn't end the book that way. (I have heard he's to play an important role in the later stories).

Voldemort, ehm Valentine of course, is causing a lot of trouble, but it mainly is some angst and family issues in City of Ashes. Hope that the next book will be a bit more than just some easy reading...
